Why we built this

Our family — my wife, our three kids, and me — has dinner to figure out every single night. Sometimes it was a forgetting problem: we'd land on a great meal, love it, and somehow lose track of it by the next week, starting from zero all over again. Other nights were worse — nobody could think of a single idea, and by 7pm "I don't know, what do you want?" turns into cereal for dinner, or takeout again. Not because we wanted to, just because coming up with something better takes energy nobody has left by then.

The shopping list didn't help: it mostly lived in my wife's head. Every ingredient, every trip, recalled from memory instead of written down anywhere.

So we built Scoff Planner to fix both. Save a meal once, with the ingredients that make it up, and it's there for good — a real list of ideas to pull from on the nights your brain has nothing, instead of defaulting to cereal. Drop your meals onto the weekly calendar instead of reinventing dinner from scratch. And because every ingredient carries a category, the shopping list it generates for you comes out sorted the way you actually walk the store — not just the order you happened to think of things.
